PIX Chat FAQ's

• What is PIX Chat?
  PIX Chat is an online instant messenger on the PIX website that you can use to chat with existing friends and make new friends with other PIX Chat users.
• How do I start using PIX Chat?
  To start using PIX Chat, you must first create an account by registering with PIX Chat. To register with PIX Chat, click on 'Register' at the top left corner of any page on the PIX website. On successfully registering an account, you receive a username and a password. Click on 'Login' and enter the username and password to start chatting.
• How do I know whether my account has been created?
  Once you have entered all required details during registration, an email is sent for confirmation to the email address entered during registration. Check your email inbox for this email and click on the link inside to confirm your registration. Once your registration is confirmed, your account is successfully created and you can start chatting by logging in.
• I forgot my password. How do I recover it?
  Click on 'Login' and then click on the 'Forgot password?' link below the boxes for entering username and password details. Enter the email address used for registration and your password will be emailed to you at that address.
• How do I change my display image (Avtar), password and contact details?

  After logging in to PIX Chat, click on 'Settings' at the top left corner of the screen. This opens a page where you can change your password, contact details such as mobile number and address and also your display image. After making the changes, click the 'Save' button on the page to permanently save the changes, or click the 'Cancel' button to return to PIX Chat without making any changes.
• How do I edit my status message?
  Click on 'Edit Status Message' in the main PIX Chat list to edit your status message and click anywhere outside the status message area to confirm the change.
• How do I change my status from 'Online' to 'Busy, Away or Invisible'?
  Click on the green icon labelled 'Online' and select your status from the options that appear.
• How do I start chatting with my friends?
  Click on the 'Add Friend' icon in the main PIX Chat list to enter your friends' email addresses and click 'Send request' to send them an invitation to join PIX Chat.
• How do I send a message to a friend?
  Click on the image or name of a friend in the main PIX Chat list to send them a message. You also select the 'Send a Message' option that appears on moving the mouse pointer over a friend's image or name in the main PIX Chat list.
• What is a Group Chat? How do I start a Group Chat?
  A Group Chat is a single conversation with two or more than two friends at a time. The messages sent in a Group Chat will be visible to all participants of the Group Chat. To start a Group Chat, move the mouse pointer over the image or name of a friend in the main PIX Chat list and select the 'Start a Group Chat' option.
• How do I add friends to a Group Chat?
  Search for the friend that you want to add to a Group Chat, by typing a few characters of their name in the search bar that is at the top of the Group Chat window. When you begin typing their name, you can choose from the friends whose names match the characters you have typed. Click on a friend's name and then click 'Add' to add them to the Group Chat.
• What does 'Block Friend' mean? How do I block/unblock a friend?
  A blocked friend cannot see you online and messages sent by them will not be received by you. Also, you cannot send them a message unless you unblock them.
  Move the mouse pointer over the image or name of a friend in the main PIX Chat list and select the 'Block Friend' option to block the friend. Follow the same method and select the 'Unblock Friend' option to unblock a friend.
• What is the 'Remove Friend' icon for?
  In the event that you want to permanently delete a friend from your list, click on the 'Remove Friend' icon and select or search for the friend that you want to remove from the list. On selecting a friend, you will be asked to confirm that you want to permanently delete the friend from your list.
• Who are the people in the 'Make friends with similar interests' section? Why am I seeing them?
  PIX Chat recommends other users for you to invite to be a part of your friends list so that you can chat with them. These users have movie interests similar to those chosen by you during the registration process. You can move the mouse over the recommended user's image to know more about them. Click 'Invite' to send an invitation to a user to join your friends list, so that you can chat with them.
